Light

In the sculpture two apparent opposites approach each other: the stone burdened with the Earth, and the weightless light. They are connected and penetrate each other. In some places the light shines through the stone which itself bears some light in its marble crystals. Light is a symbol for all things which give hope, and show the way. The stone in its styling is reminiscent both of a sail and of a gateway. Both bear the echo of a journey which we find ourselves on – this dangerous journey, which can so suddenly be ended, and which asks us in this perilous condition about the essential things.
