Inside the Creative Heart of Time

On the occasion of the 35 year anniversary of the Freie Waldorfschule Essen, and as a way to express my gratitude towards my old place of learning, I created a 17 ton marble sculpture. Parallel to that, I taught a sculpting course for the senior classes, using smaller pieces of the same marble. The original block, which I selected from a quarry in Portugal, showed an impressive natural pattern of a cross with four sections, the mysterious beauty of which I carefully carved out.
