Horizons

On my wanderings in the marble mountains of Greece I saw this unusually lively-grained and colourful piece and was enchanted by its beauty. This stone told me a story of a landscape over whose far horizon the sun went down or will come up and where the sky has an unreal light with wonderful colours and patterns. Through the air flies a fable-being...and inside the horizon is a second horizon-stripe which tells its own story -I discovered and brought forward this landscape story without interfering with it. To deepen the feeling of a view to the horizon the stone is worked as a large concave shape which at the upper edge is about three-times as curved than at the underneath edge. The levels of the sky and the earth are characterised by the different types of working, highly polished and raw-cut.
